English for Academic Purposes (EAP)

EAP 1 – minimum overall score of 5.0 with no skill (listening, speaking, reading, writing) of less than 4. If the student only has 4 for writing, s/he must do EAP 1 and then EAP 2 even if s/he has an overall score of 5.5.
EAP 2 – minimum overall score of 5.5 with no skill (listening, speaking, reading, writing) of less than 4.5.
Students who have not completed an IELTS test can sit an examination to determine whether their English language is of an appropriate level. |

English Preparation for High School

The Meridian International School accepts students of a broad range of English language abilities into the English Preparation for High School program*. However, an initial English language test is recommended to determine the amount of English study required before entry into High School. The minimum age for study in the English Preparation for High School is 12 years.
*Students from some countries need to satisfy specific English language requirements to obtain a visa. |

To be eligible to study VCE or HSC students are required to meet
the appropriate state conditions. Students who complete year 11
in another Australian Institution and who wish to join the
school for year 12 will be considered on an individual basis.
